Handover of the motorhome and journey to Victoria

After picking up the RV, head south from Vancouver to Tsawwassen, where you can take the ferry to Swartz Bay in Victoria. Stay at Fort Victoria RV Park, ideal for exploring the surrounding area. Visit the famous Butchart Gardens, just 17 km away, or use public transport to explore Victoria.

Insider tip: Visit Butchart Gardens early in the day to experience the full beauty of the flowers and avoid crowds.

Day 3

Forest Trail

Pacific Rim

This longer stage takes you from Victoria along the picturesque coast to the Pacific Rim National Park near Tofino. Spend the night at Greenpoint Campground, a state-run site on Long Beach, with electricity and shower facilities. Experience the impressive forest trails with huge trees, mangroves and the expansive Pacific beaches.

Insider tip: Don’t miss the forest trail at Long Beach, where you can hike through the lush rainforest beneath majestic giant trees – a unique nature experience!

Day 4

Qualicium Beach

After visiting the Pacific Rim National Park, head to the east coast to Qualicum Beach and Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park. Here, weather permitting, you can enjoy relaxing days swimming on the beach.

Insider tip: If you have time, you should take a detour to the Sunshine Coast on the mainland – a picturesque area that can only be reached by ferry from Vancouver.

Rodeo

The journey takes you through the impressive mountains and the Fraser Valley, past the Gold Rush Trail and Caribou County. Once you arrive at Canim Lake, the site owner Rudy Gauss offers boat rentals and wilderness tours.

Insider tip: If you happen to be there in late June or early July, visit the Williams Lake Stampede, the second largest rodeo in Canada.

In Wells Gray Park you can enjoy the untouched nature around the North Thompson River Provincial Park near Clearwater. On the way there, the route takes you along the picturesque Fishing Highway, known for its idyllic landscape.

Wilcox Creek

Icefield Parkaway

On the way from Mount Robson to Jasper, it is worth taking a detour to Maligne Lake before continuing the journey along the spectacular Icefield Parkway. Highlights along the way are the impressive Athabasca Falls and the Columbia Icefield.

Insider tip: A hiking trail with great views leads from Wilcox Creek Campground to Wilcox Pass.

The journey takes you along Upper Arrow Lake via Kaslo and New Denver, taking the free ferry from Galena Bay to Shelter Bay before reaching Revelstoke and heading to Martha Creek Provincial Park.

Insider Tip: Visit the railroad museum in Revelstoke or take a hike up Meadows in the Sky to experience the blooming summer meadows.

Frontage Road

Othello Tunnel

Coquihalla Canyon Park

The route leads via the Coquihalla Highway to Hope and on to the Coquihalla Campground in Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park, where hikes such as the Othello Tunnel are possible.

Insider tip: Empty the water tank thoroughly before the last stage.
